VeggieSue's blog awhile back after discovering she was a McDougall fan as well. Today she is posting a recipe for a dressing that I can't wait to try. I didn't want to re post her post and thought instead, sharing her blog with you was a wonderful idea.
Today she is talking about Invisible Illness Awareness Week which I totally appreciate. Her husband's invisible illness is Coronary Artery Disease which I can see as being invisible. My FIL had 5 bypasses in the last couple of years and I consider that invisible as well. He shuffles around very slowly and some might assume he is just old and unstable but I know him as a very strong and sure man. He shuffles around carefully because of the veins that were taken from his legs to use for his bypasses.
My invisible illness would be my kidney disease (and subsequent transplant). I have a kidney now and I am doing much better. I sometimes suffer ill effects from medications (maybe they should call them ill effects other than side effects!) and I think some might make unknowing judgments about why I don't participate in certain things, why I miss church meetings etc. It has all led me to believe, just as the sayings going around the internet, that you should be nice to everyone you meet because you truly don't know what someone else is going through. Let's be respectful of all and assume nothing.
